Fred Crapse, D.O., Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Crapse began his surgical bariatrics in 1999 when as a senior surgical resident he spent three months of training, assisting, and performing both open and laparoscopic roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedures. Dr. Crapse was the first assistant on the very first laparoscopic roux-en-Y gastric bypass performed in Oklahoma. Few people realize that most weight loss surgeries have a gastric sleeve or some modification of it included in the procedure. Dr. Crapse has performed gastric sleeve surgeries for both gastric and esophageal cancers throughout his career.
